The Entrepreneurship One-Year Certificate of Completion (CC1) at Central Oregon Community College is designed to provide students with a foundation for starting their own businesses or assisting in business startup activities. The program aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed as entrepreneurs. The curriculum covers a range of business-related topics, including introduction to business, business math, customer service, management fundamentals, business communications, accounting, marketing principles, marketing research, and entrepreneurship. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to apply effective written and verbal communication skills, analytical and reasoning skills, and appropriate ethical choices in a professional and personal context. They will also be able to interpret financial data and make informed decisions about a company's operating performance, as well as describe the marketing plan and strategies behind product/service positioning, pricing, distribution, and promotion. The certificate is designed for students planning to enter their chosen career upon graduation, and while some credits may be transferrable to public or private baccalaureate institutions, the program is primarily focused on preparing students for immediate entry into the workforce.
